How this works
The exclusion screening service operated by CFAISolutions LLC (C.F.A.I.).
CFExclusion screens two federal sources: the HHS-OIG List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE) and SAM.gov's exclusions list. They are not on the same refresh schedule. The LEIE is checked daily against its published source, and new exclusions and reinstatements are merged in automatically as HHS-OIG posts its monthly supplements. SAM.gov's list does not yet have an automated refresh — it reflects the date it was last loaded, shown on the homepage. A search checks a name, organization, NPI, or state against both at once.
What a result can tell you
Whether a name matches a record in either source, how strong that match is (an NPI match is stronger than a name-only match), and — for organizations — the exclusion's own dates, type, and excluding agency.
What it can't tell you
Whether the specific person you have in mind is the specific person on the record. A name match is never treated as an identity determination on this site — confirm against the official source, linked on every result, before acting.
What we are, and aren't
CFExclusion is not accredited, not SOC 2 attested, and not an FCRA-regulated consumer reporting agency. See what that rules in and out for you →
